Chandpur is one of the cities under the district Bijnor in UP. The city is 140 kilometres from national capital Delhi, and 110 kilometres from Meerut. Chandpur is well connected and is 38 kilometres by road from Gajraula on National highway-24,(Delhi-Luchnow Highway). The City is under district Bijnor and is surrounded by the districts Meerut, Muzzafarnagar, Moradabad, Haridwar, Kotdwar and J.P.Nagar. Vaiysa, Agarwal, Tyagi, Sikhs and Jats dominate in wealth and social status. The Muslim community is also prosperious.
Agriculture is the main source of income in Chandpur, sugarcane being the main crop. Chandpur is famous for Sugar and Gur with its well known mandi as Mandi Kotla.
The main markets of chandpur are Mandi Kotla, Dhaali Bazer, Bazaria, Mina Bazar, the Saturday Market and Thursday market at Patiyapara.
On the education front, Chandpur has many primary schools and colleges as one government degree college named Gulab Singh Degree College.

On the political side, Chandpur is well known as "Mini Chahproli" because of highly active role in UP politics. The City has been represented by many ministers in UP assembly in recent past. Politics of chandpur had been always very volatile and azad candidates generally win the local assembly elections.
Chandpur has a biggest mosque known as "Jama Masjid of Chandpur"in Bijnor district as well as both of the mosque's minarets are around 150 feet height.
